We care for the soil beneath our feet so the soil can provide for all of us. We protect our native wildlife and plants so they will thrive alongside us.
Roots & Wild Micro Farm and Landscape Design is a BIPOC Woman-owned small business in Dundee, Orgeon.
In January 2022 Grace quit her corporate job and began turning a part-time passion into her full-time everything. She immersed herself in the study of Permaculture, regenerative farming, climate resilience, and medicinal plants and herbs.
Grace was previously a creative director and ‘marketing leader’ for a bunch of brands you’ve definitely heard of, until discomfort with her role in enabling mindless consumerism became too much.
The climate crisis impacts each and every living being on the planet, and she was determined to devote every waking moment to being a small part of the solution. So, she took the biggest risk of her life, and quit.
Now she’s transforming this piece of land into her own small business - with community and wellness at the core. 2024 will be devoted to experimenting here on the farm - testing out the crops we will grow, and developing the products we will offer to the community.
We also offer landscape design services – from full-service design and installation to custom consulting, we will help you ditch your lawn and turn your dream – be it an edible landscape, pollinator habitat or biodiverse backyard oasis – into a reality. Wellness begins with reestablishing a personal connection with nature and the plants that nourish and heal us. No matter how large or small, together we can transform your space and your soil into a climate resilient and dynamic pollinator and wildlife friendly habitat, buzzing with energy and providing food, medicine, joy, and connection.
Here on the farm we grow a curated selection of medicinal and culinary plants and herbs - supported by hundreds of native plants in our vibrant biodiverse habitat - to nourish and heal mind, body, and soul. Most of these are used in both western and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and all support the myriad of symptoms suffered by peri-and post-menopausal women. Stress, anxiety, sleep, energy. Yeah, aging sucks. But what sucks more is how little has historically been invested in women’s health by the medical community. And what relief is available is being developed by startups that fit neatly into the rapid growth template - shiny marketing, high profile partnerships and influencers, and prices to match.
Enough with the inaccessible price tags and gatekeeping. Wellness should be a right, not a privilege. Growing, creating, designing biodiverse landscapes that feed and heal us, the soil, and wildlife. That’s the vision. Come and visit! We’d love to give you a tour. All are welcome here 💚🍃
